Do you sing at work

To those of you that like to sing at your desk or hum to the music on your headphones I ask you to PLEASE STOP!
Face it 99.99999% of you can' t sing.  I don' t care if you have been singing for years or have had vocal coaching.  The truth is very few people can sing well and that goes double for those that think they have been trained how to sing.  Besides even if you could sing well it makes for a noisy environment.
Now, that' s a new one for me.  We have a few folks who have cellphones that ring loud, that' s about it.  I can' t imagine the razzing you would get if you started singing in our office.  They' d probably call 911 and have you taken in for observation.  I can picture it now.  Our fire dept shows up for everything and they show up in big silver space suits.  It would look like ' American Idol' being abducted by space men.

If you work alone, sing your heart out. Belt out a few favorites or compose new ones.

I like to revise lyrics for my favorite people. They love it. Impromptu lyrics and tunes are a challenge for the listener but if you are alone and working, why not? Try some new ideas and if the mood calls for it, go with jazz. Spoken word poetry is good, too. Or compose a new piece as you work.

BTW, it is a guaranteed way to irritate creepy eavesdroppers as you work. Who could stand listening to it? I can' t carry a tune and never could. It has to be hell to listen to me sing anything. I enjoy that part the most.

I am working on opera next. It will be an irritating and long piece, I am sure. Maybe a revised version of The Ring Cycle. With costumes and a spear, of course.
