This past week I was reading about several car wrecks that have killed innocent people. These wrecks were caused by illegal street racing. I watch S. California news via satellite and horrified that a lot of innocent women and children area being killed by racers who lose control of their vehicles and smash into innocent bystanders. A man lost his wife, young son and baby daughter this past week to this stupid racing.

I will admit as a 20 something year old I used to race my car and motorcycle in the Hollywood Hills (Muholland Drive) and in Angelus Crest Hwy. But I was careful and slowed down when I saw cars approaching or if I saw pedestrians on the sidewalks.

But todays kids do not care or they are clueless what their stupidity can do in a split second!

I have always advocated that if a person is caught street racing, their car is immediately confiscated and the person loses their car to the state forever. The car can be sold or destroyed. The money taken in would then be used for traffic safety in high schools and to help victims of car wrecks caused by these racers.

Street racing will not unless we take action and that action is to take away the cars these idiots use to kill people. Any car, even the ones that are bystanders, should be taken away.
