Down and Out!

Does the Job market seem slow to anyone? My field is construction, and I know that has gone way down. It just seems I cant find anything. Anyone have any tips on what to do?

I guess it all depends on what kind of construction.  I'm assuming there are plenty of construction jobs available in Louisiana and Mississippi, but you'd have to relocate.  The housing market in my area dried up when the interest rates went up.

I am sure you read the paper.  Except for work doing constructions for companies, construction is a mess because of the real estate bust around the country.  Unfortunately it is going to be at least two years before you see much of an improvement; and that is if there is no recession.

Although here in Las Vegas we are seeing a building boom, construction in general has slowed down tremendously. Several condomium projects for the Strip were cancelled or postponed.

Residential development is way down. Most master planned communities are hurting with hundreds of homes going unsold. You might to look around the region where you want to work to see if the construction industry is tanking out or booming.

Have you checked with your local contractors unions to see where they need skilled workers/
