PRIVILILEGED CHARACTERS ALL FREE! FREE!I was just watching a baseball game. The announcer said that Lou Pinella does not get charged for dinner when he is in Chicago and all other baseball cities. We all know that baseball players are just about all mutimillionaires. One would think they could pay for one's meals-even if the meal costs $500. What else does he mooch for free?(Talk about welfare recepients.) He probably gets free cars, free houses, taxes paid, free trips around the world, free clothes and who knows what else. How about politicians? Do they mooch also? I would bet there are thousands of "priviledged" politicians who receive this "welfare" for the well-to-do on all levels. ...Yet, we poor and middle class have to pay for a mechanic just checking the brakes on our cars! ...Now, we do not have the money for health care? Yeah right. dp Free food for celebrities isn't intended to help out the celebrity. It's intended to help out the establishment by attracting these attractive individuals. Welfare is people taking money from taxpayers, money people have worked hard to earn, to pay their personal expenses. Free food as part of a promotion from a private company isn't welfare. Yes, in both cases someone is getting a free meal, but the SOURCE of that free meal is entirely different. The taxpayer has no choice coughing up the tax money. The restaurant owner gives away the meal voluntarily for his own benefit. And the general public benefits from such "charity." We can frequent restaurants that comp meals to celebs and possibly see or meet these celebs ourselves! Every dollar a celebrity saves gets spent somewhere else (they know their budgets and spend a certain amount even if some stuff is free, just like your or I do) aiding the general economy even further. How often have you received free pens or savings on items as part of a company's promotion? EVERYONE benefits when companys spend money promoting themselves. It's just good PR. Quit complaining. The system works, and just because someone else has something doesn't mean that you can't have it, too. Gee, I get to meet a celebrity! That's just about all in life I wanted!..... but I still have to pay $300 for a meal some dimwitted blonde gets for free! Boy! We can't beat those celebrities. Hey,
There is nothing wrong with helping out an attractive woman with her dinner! I write a blog for a rock & roll magazine, and get comps all the time. If they choose to do so, who am I to complain? I'm not even hot, or blonde! ....Because that attractive woman might live in a villa! I wish I could be a rock star. | |
