OJ Simpson In Trouble AgainBy now you may have heard O.J. Simpson has been questioned by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department over an armed robbery charge at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino. Apparently OJ and two men forced their way into a sports memorabilia collectors room and took some sports items worth $75,000 that included some that alledgedly belonged to OJ. OJ told police the items were stolen from him. OJ is cooperating with the LVMPD. Coincidentally, Fred Goldman's book that OJ wrote was released to the public today. Goldman won the rights to the profits from the book If I Did It. Only difference is that Goldman's title to the book is I Did It with the "IF" inside the I. What do you folks think about OJ and his book If I Did It? Apparently he has now been arrested and is being held without bail -
good for the Las Vegas Police That damn book must never be sold. It must stay out of book stores! There was an interview on the ABC morning news a few days ago. Diane Sawyer interviewed Nicole's sister and, of course, she is against the whole thing. Then there was a recorded interview with Fred Goldman who is the father of Ron Goldman. At first - he wanted no part of this book but for some reason, he decided that he wants the book to be circulated just to let the world know about the evil of domestic abuse and violence. I do not agree with him and cannot understand his thinking!
Bunzo The Goldmans own the book now. A bankruptcy judge ruled that they get all profits from its sale. They altered the title, adding "Confessions of the Killer," and also added commentary to the text of the book. I can certainly understand how they would want to collect some portion of their judgment against the man. Bunzo- The book was given to the Goldmans as part of the judgement that they've yet to recover from OJ. They aren't looking to make any money off the book but they were required by the terms of the court order to publish it and make money off of it since it is an "asset" in a bankruptcy. This also solidifies their copyright and prevents him from writing something else that is quite similar and starting this whole mess all over again. Tess While I can see Fred Goldman's anger, I do not agree with his publishing that book. What he should have done was to write his own book about his feelings and why do believes OJ was and is the only murderer of his son and Nicole Simpson. I would rather read his own perception of the events that lead up to the murders and what was going on in his mind at the time of the trials. In the beginning of this Trial of the Lifetime, I always felt OJ was innocent. But if he was innocent, why didn't he spend the money to find the real killers? I have always said his cut hand was mysterious in that it coincidentally happened during the murders. What swayed me to believe he did indeed kill Nicole and Ron is the fact he ran (white Bronco chase). Even if he was divorced from Nicole, she was still his children's mother. Why would he allow his children to see their mother murdered like that? In this new case, OJ went about it all wrong. If he believed those items were stolen, why didn't he seek the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Departments help in retrieving those items? He could have called the Robbery/burglary detectives who would have investigated his claims. But he chose to confront the supposed thieves when he did not have the right to do so. I agree with you on the issue of the book. But the bankruptcy judge is right also. It is part of the "estate" and had to be published to pay the Goldmans for their claim against OJ as unfortunate as that is. I would wish that they had hired a ghost writer to put more into their feelings about having to publish it. As for why he did what he did in Vegas....I think it is because he got away with murder. He, like so many others in his position believes he is above the law. That his status and money puts him there. That the public will forgive him for any and every henious act. He makes a mockery of manhood. After watching the trial I believe he murdered Nichole and Ron. He abused her for years. He had an explosive temper. He is scum. Someday he will pay for his behavior. Maybe not in this life, but someday. | |
