Why dont companies let you know
I would love to know why companies don't let you know that they are pursuing other candidates after you go interview with them in person? I traveled all day to meet with a company face to face, made a presentation, then they said they would let me know. I waited a while, sent some emails and left some voicemails over 2 months and it was not till i let them know i had some offers on the table from other companies that they FINALLY let me know they were considering other candidates; they said it was going to be a 2 month process as they were hiring a lot of new people. Fine, great, just let us know that, instead of disrespecting us. Yet other companies I interviewed with sent me nice letters explaining why the moved onto other candidates. I just don't get HR people Nobody has any manners these days. Well, actually, some people do but most don't. Also, most companies have downsized so much that there aren't enough staff to do the work, so notifying candidates other than the ones who are being hired just isn't done anymore. NEVER stop your job search until you actually start a new job, no matter how "good" all the signs are. We've even heard of jobs being rescinded after a formal job offer letter was sent. WB Most companies as a whole dont give too much feedback - I did receive an email yesterday from a large corporation that I had interviewed with before accepting my current offer that the guy was still interested but also still interviewing since he had been on vacation for the past 3 weeks since I interviewed with them. This is happening big time in Corporate America. In all businesses, they are pushing great customer service BUT when it comes to hiring practices there seems to be no professionalism whatsoever. For example, when I was unemployed and deseperately seeking employment, many major corporations did not even have the professionalism to tell me I was not being considered. I had to learn via my industry network of friends who knew I was not even chosen. So here is what I did. I will never buy their products. I was not worthy of their employment so they are worthy of me using their product. Because of my treatment, one of those companies was not even considered for a multi-million dollar contract for services through my current employer. So because of their unprofessional conduct their balance sheet is going to be several million dollars less. | |
