From what I've read (including the book), there seem to be two camps about this: one (including Oprah) that praises it no end and another that calls it New Age-y, narcissistic claptrap. In my opinion, it's just the latest variation on developing a positive-thinking mindset and reputedly manifesting your dreams and goals through visualization (and "The Secret" seems to minimalize the need for actual, physical effort). Maybe some can tap into the magnetic well of the subconscious and others can't. I get hung up in the conundrum that if it isn't working for me, I'm either trying too hard or not trying hard enough.
