700 recruiters and 3800 applications

So my hunt has now spanned over 10 months and I' m no closer than I was 10 months ago.  I belong to Monster, ExecuNet, TheLadders, 6figurejobs, and several other subscriber ($$) boards.  I have paid over $4k to retool my resume (several times) as well as cover letters.  I have self-funded my own continuing education in new fields as well as old to the tune of over $10K.  I do hold a 2 year degree but not a 4 which is what I am constantly running into.  I have over 25 years of experience in IT with a multitude of certifications.  I have attended a few Ivy League schools to boost my credentials.  I have dumbed down my resume and credentials to get in the door. (still don' t have the right keys to open it).  I have contacted over 700 executive recruiters and applied to over 3800 jobs.  I have had exhaustive background checks done to ensure my viability.  I switched fields 5 years ago for the same experience I am having today and ended up starting my own company to survive.  Looks like I might have to do this again in yet another field.

My point here is that although you may feel you have had a tough run of luck you must keep your head down and keep plugging away.  My other point is STAY IN SCHOOL AND GET THAT 4 YEAR DEGREE because it really doesn' t matter what it is in as long as you have it.  It is now a common check box on every job application and you are screened out right away no matter how much experience you may have.  I' m a prime example of this.  One more thing.......I' m going back to school starting in January to finish my 4 year degree.....Now I just have to find a job to help me pay for it...........
