career indecision
I have been working with high school students and young adults who are considering college and or career change. I have found psychoeducational evaluation and vocational assessment to be very helpful in clarifying career uncertainty for both further training, education and or placement efforts.
Can you offer some suggestions of where someone might be able to access those resources? Can you give some examples of psychoeducational tools? In general a psychoeducational eval helps show ability and achievement skill levels so that decision making can be made regarding either potential placement or plans for more education. I use several tools as part of a battery. In addition to IQ testing and achievement analysis, one of those is the interest inventory along with the other tools to give the person as much information and data as possible to make a sound decision. If you are interested you could contact any psychologist or career/vocational counselor in your area. I happen to specialize in this area of development for people who are changing. The reasons are numerous and could be due to desire to alter work duties, financial, and injury. So alot depends on your age, prior education, and future plans or desires. | |
