Career change, job search HELP!!Hi, Let me give you a little background. I have a degree in psychology and am finishing up my MBA. I have been in the insurance industry since undergrad studies, 8 years. I absolutely hate it. I am trying to change careers and have done my resume over a thousand times. I am looking into finance, retail buying and hr. I have yet to hear from any employer. Its frustrating but I know I can't stay at my present job anymore. Can someone suggest any other industries that may be of interest or what I can do to land an interview or what I could be doing wrong that is not getting me calls for interviews? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated...
Those (finance, retail buying, hr) are really widely separate fields. What do you bring to each? What does your insurance background prepare you for? What were you doing in insurance by the way? Ian Christie Career Changers Coach
I am in claims. I only worked in this industry to get through college. I am good with accounting and math and have some of those responsibilities in my current field. I enjoy shopping and negotiation, I use negotiation techniques as well. I have always had an interest in hr and I have a certificate in hr management. I enjoy helping people and enjoy law. | |
