Medical Coding BillingDoes anyone have personal experience with these particular careers? I see it listed and wonder what the job is like? Is it very repetitive, piles of paperwork to code with very little variation of duties. thanks
Avoid this career like the plague, I have been doing medical billing for 10 years now, and it is a deadend job. The pay for these jobs has gone down, this field is unstable as inusrance companies are paying less and less each year and medical offices are constantly closing. I have suffered from lay offs on my last two jobs, due to offices closing. The pay for the field has gone down, and they do not want to pay for experience, i was making 17.00 and hour at my last position and now all I can find is positions paying 10.00- 12.00 an hour. I, along with other people i know in this field are trying to get out of this field.
Hi gardens-dogs Here is the job profile .........

Thank you very much for the feedback. I value the opinion of someone in the field. I in the past I have read job descriptions talked to instructors and career counsellors and then tried to enter into a field. Then you start to talk to the real people doing the jobs or those trying to break into the field, or those hiring and you find out a totally different story from the impressions you were given before training. I am trying not to make that mistake again. I am familiar with Health records, and Health records administrator positions to some degree but medical billing is a different branch and requires specific training.
