Need help and advice

My name is Nicole.  I'm new to the monster message boards but I didn't know where else to turn for help.  I'm almost 25 years old and I'm currently working as a Customer Service Technician for a major cell phone company.  I've been working there for about 6 months now and I love my job and the people I work with but I'm working about 65 to 70 hours per week and my schedule is constantly changing from week to week.   This leaves me no time to spend with my family and I'm STILL not making ends meet.  I need a change.  I need a career where I can work a steady schedule and still feel good about what I do.  I'm VERY good at Public Speaking so I would really like to try to find a career involving that.  I'm also a really good writer.  I just don't even know where to begin looking.  Growing up I did about 12 years of Public Speaking competitions with speeches I researched and wrote myself and won 11 of them at the highest level so I know I can do it.  What I need is a push in the right direction.  Any clues or advice anyone might have as to where I could look would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you all.

Working retail hours is unsettling.  It is hardest when you have a family.  I feel your pain.

Have you tried contacting the regional or corporate offices of the company you work?  Perhaps, they have sales management positions for you to apply?  Make sure your resume shows your public speaking to its best advantage!

If not, have you thought about going to another cell phone company?  If you are doing that well and can sell yourself, part of your hire package could be set hours?  Perhaps, you could even hire in at a management level?

You may also want to try purchasing positions with stable companies or city/county/state offices.  The positions are stable, have great benefits, and your hours would probably be the normal 8-5.  Purchasing positions require good sales 'speak' and persuasion.

Best of luck in your endeavors!
