How do I land employment in the US.

In order to get a work visa for another country (any other country) you have to be able to do something that someone who is there already either cannot or will not do.  If you don't have a BA or BS AND some unique skill, frankly, it isn't going to happen.  If you've been working as an Administrative Assistant type job or a tax preparer or something along those lines, it isn't going to happen.  You do have specialized knowledge of South African Tax, however, I can't think that would be beneficial to an American company, UNLESS you can find one that does a lot of business in South Africa.  You could look at firms like Deloitte or Price-Waterhouse Coopers who do tax and auditing around the world, however, you'd have to have at least a BA/BS for those positions.

You might do better to enter the immigrant lottery for the US and not try to come on a work visa.  I just can't see that the H1B visa route is going to work for you.

I am a South African Citizen and I am at wits end in trying to land employment in the US. I have not completed my qualification but for the pas 8 years I have worked heavily in and administrative field also specializing in South African Tax. I want to come to the US but I need to find a job first. However it's so confusing on how to go about this as well as it seems no one will Hire me, is there any help out there?
