Leaving Technical Support Career

I would like some advice on how to leave a technical support career path. I've been working in technical support for over 15 years and would like to move in to a different area, like business analysis or metrics. However, I'm finding this difficult. Since my work experience has been about troubleshooting networks and applications, I do not have the necessary experience in business analysis/metrics that employers are looking. What would be a good approach to handle this type of situation? Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I am in the exact same predicament. I keep getting tech support jobs and I want to do business analysis. I hope we get a response.
