from accounting to HR

I have been working as a accountant for 7 years. I studied Business Administration and then did masters in Organizational Behavior in Europe. I could never find an opportunity other than accounting so far...I would like to find an opportunity where I can use my graduate school education. How can I move to the HR field? The closest I got so far was "payroll"  I have very good people skills. I like helping people. I would like to be in the "training and orientation"field. Any suggestions?
Good luck and thank you.....

I don't have any advice to give, but do "feel your pain"  I too want to get into HR, I have done Payroll, some training, some benefits...but my job titles are all "Administrative Assistant".  I am a semester away from my Masters in Public Administration.  I see that many HR jobs want you to have HR certifications, but you can't get certified unless you work in the field...I hope that someone out there can give us both some advice...

Good luck!

One thought I have is there is a side of HR that requires quantitative analysis. Everything is becoming more outcomes oriented. Recruitment. Retention. Cost per hire. Time to hire. Analytics is something that needs to get done. I don't know if there are FT jobs doing this, but combinining your obvious facility with numbers and finances, your OB degree, and your interest, there may be an entry point somewhere.

Ring any bells?
