Switch to Human Services, Social WorkI am considering a switch to Human Services from sales and marketing support. Like most people who are seeking change, I am burnt out with corporate crap and competing for the all mighty dollar. Currently, I have my own business, but it doesn't bring in that much money. Although I am good at what I do, I don't love what I do. The good thing right now is that I work from home and it allows me to be with my kids, ages 15 and 8. After some soul searching, I really think I want to help people. I love when I get asked for advice, I always kind myself in a consultative role and really like to listen and learn about other people. I have an Associate's Degree in Business and I have been looking at either a social worker degree or a degree in human services. I prefer to attend school online as I have to be in my home office during the days and evenings. U of Phoenix offers a Bachelor's in Human Services that is online. Can anyone tell me what I can do with that type of degree, would I be able to work with people or be a case manager? I am not concerned that my salary will be less, I have decided I would rather be happy than work at a job because of the money. This field is very new to me so I don't know much about it, except that I want to be in it.
