from military to a job that doesnt suck
I joined the military last year to fund my college education and im torn between getting a degree in something i truly love (writing/literature) and something thats in demand and would ensure a good wage in the work force. I would love to be a screenwrtier or write for television. I just need to get a degree by the time i get out.....in five years.
If you' re going to get a degree in writing/literature, then you need a serious and specific plan on how you' re going to end up gainfullly employed on the other end. You need to recognize that screenwriting is an area that is INCREDIBLY hard to get into and that for many years you may have to sleep on your friend' s couches because you may not be able to afford the rent. You' re going to need to live in LA too so if that means you' d have to move, then that' s what that means. If you' re willing to push through all that, if you have talent and if you get lucky, it could work out. So, you should seriously consider what other related careers might be more reasonable or might fill until until the "dream job" comes along. | |
