self emp. PT how to put on resume
I am a self employed nutritioinist, working by contract in health care. Because of this, my experience seems to be all over the map, looking like I can't focus. When the reality is that I have been able to find many different contracts (though I am trying to replace a recently ended one). How can I round up this experience to a resume that shows I am truly targeted, and also adapt it for a career change?
It partially depends on your future target and how you want to represent this experience. One approach is to package your various contract experiences under one heading, similar to having one employer, multiple jobs. You can devote 1 line per contract to 1 paragraph, whichever seemed most suitable, or even get a big more creative. The sum total of those contracts could be communicated as a certain set of experience, learning, accomplishment, etc. This is a good option when the contracts, on the surface, appear diverse. Another approach is to treat each major contract as a separate "job." If they were each significant - separate challenges and outcomes, and the contracts demonstrate depth and a path in your field, then this might be a good option. I hope that helps.
