Whats in a name

I'm not sure this post is exactly in the right place, so please forgive me if it is not.

I am looking for some professional advice on naming a new position to which I've been appointed.

I left a job 20 months ago with a major auto manufacture where I was working as an electrician.  Like many here I was stifled and frustrated by my lack of opportunity and growth although the money was great.  I went back to school and finished up my Economics degree.  Just 5 months ago I got hired by a great company (thanks Monster) based on my electrical background.  Ironic considering that's what I wanted to get away from doing.

Well every chance I could, I tried to show that I am capable of numerous other things.  I guess it paid off, because the company VP and President asked me  to describe what I'd like to do in the company.   I was hired as a field engineer, testing and certifying our products in the field.  What I enjoy doing is meeting with existing and potential clients, discussing how we can meet their needs and identifying new business opportunities.  Other experiences that they are going to allow me to utilize are marketing, internet marketing, business development, and oh yeah my electrical background.  As was described to me, they want me to be a bridge between the sales arm of the company and our engineering to help coordinate information and activities.  I will answer directly to our VP of Sales and Marketing.  So on behalf of the both of us, what be a good name for this position?  He asked if I'd thought of a name and joking said "jack-of-all-trades", but I can't put that on my new business cards now can I?

Thanks for your advice

Before you put anything on a business card, run them past "the powers that be" for approval. Here are a few I thought of:

New Business Developement Tech, Electrical Business Consultant, Manager of Electrical Engineering Opportunities, Marketing consultant-Engineering Div.

Try these out for size! Good luck!

I had a position with a specialized custom computer manufacturer that sounds conceptually similar to yours. I was the sales department's technical liaison with the engineering department. I worked with the sales staff (nontechnical) to make sure the orders they took were technically correct, and with the engineering staff to find ways to satisfy customers' unique requirements. My title was "Sales Engineer." Hope this helps.
I just wanted to thank you guys for your ideas.  After my formal meeting to discuss the position with our VP and Pres. this week, I think I be able make a good decision on labeling the the new post.  My objective is to continue looking forward.  I want my career to grow in the business development direction versus carrying around tools as an electrician.  I'm being conscious of how my resume will look in case it becomes necessary to transition to another employer.
