Conducting job search when you work full


Hello, some advice needed. 

I graduated from a graduate degree program this past June.  I spent a few months looking for a full time job but to no avail.  I started temping on a full-time basis in October as an office assistant (making a competitive hourly wage comparable to that of a McD’s cashier except I don’t have zits on my face). 

Due to financial reasons (i.e. the monthly student loan payment), I will have to keep temping full time in the foreseeable future.  My question is, how does one conduct an efficient job search when one works full time?  I am thinking about joining an after-hours job hunting group to increase my chance of success.  Can someone please shed some light on this matter? Thanks.
