Get another degree to qualify TN visa

IT jobs in US is always intriguing and it tends to pay a lot more than Canadian peers, plus there are quite a lot of opportunities out there. I know as a Canadian, TN visa is a must to work in the states.

Now comes the problem, as TN visa requirement says
‘To obtain a TN visa, a Canadian citizen must be sponsored by a U.S. company, be hired for a position included on the TN job list, hold a related bachelor's degree, and have several years of related experience’

I’ve been working in IT industry since I graduate and immigrated to Canada four years ago, now working as a senior IT consultant in a well-known financial company. I am holding dozens of certifications (Microsoft), but my undergraduate degree in economics, which is not a related degree to an IT job.

In order to take my move to work in the states, am I supposed to take another degreein computer science? If so, is there a fast way to do this?
Really appreciate any input, thanks!

To work in the US you have to be able to do something that someone here either cannot or will not do.  The requirments are less stringent for Candians on the TN visa, but the theory still holds true.  In order to get hired and sponsored, you have to have some sort of unique skill that makes it worthwhile for the company to go through the bother of dealing with the TN visa.  I can't tell if that is the case for you or not, but that's something you really need to consider.  Keep in mind that in many parts of the US, there is an over-abundance of IT people, many with more years of experience than you have, who cannot find the high paying jobs that used to exist just a few years ago.  Unless you find a specialty and a position that matches it, I think you're going to find it difficult to get sponsorship.

As to whether INS (now called BCIS) will consider an economics degree a related field or not, the best way to find out is to call them and ask.   Also, ask if it would be considered a related degree if you were doing IT for a financial company such as a bank or if you were working in the finance department of some other type of business.

You need to have proof of skills.  It may even be likely you'd need a MS in CS to differentiate yourself.

"is there a fast way to do this"

The fastest way is to get a 2nd bachelor's is to get started as soon as possible.  Canada has many fine universities so don't wait!  Also, don't attempt to short-circuit things and go with a schlock for-profit edu-business "university" like U of Phoenix, DeVry, ITT, or other near-diploma-mill.  If you don't go to a REAL university you are not going to look any better.
