help me

hello, im from philippines graduate as doctor of veterinary medecine i had 2 years experience in philpippines as veterinarian. now im here in US married with american guy,im planning to get here a license but might be 5 years from now the best part i can take the test here with out going to school because my college where i graduate is accredited here in US. Now im applying here as vet techenician i went 3 times for interview they are looking for my US experience? and then they always ask me if i have a question. idont knew  whats my question because i dont what to ask about the benefits or salary, the important for me to have an experience...can you give me some idea what to wear during the interview? and then eveytime i went interview the clinic never called me just to inform if they hired me or not.im trying to call the clinic but the owner doesnt answer my call just wanna ask about why he didnt hire me so i know or i have some idea what to do or in the future.thanks
Don't really know much about the vet business, but I can think of a couple of questions (ask as many or as few as appropriate)
What types of animals do you treat the most?
What services do you find you provide the most often?
Do you know your patients by name?  Do they know you? (probably only makes sense for pets/show animals)
How do you find new patients?
Why do you work with animals?

After you ask your questions, you'd need to finish with some type of close like "I really think I would like to work here, can you give me some idea when I can start?" (modify it as appropriate to the situation).  You'll get a time-line which means your still in the running or he/she will try to put you off which probably means he/she has already decide against you.  For those that give you some sort of time-line, follow up.  They'll either make you an offer or come up with some reason.  If they don't give you a solid reason for not selecting you, they're probably not sure if  true reason is ethical.

Follow up an interview with some sort of thank-you card.

Ok, lotsof questions here!

1)  I would say always dress up for an interview - I always wear a suit (but I'm a guy, so it's easy), but as some who has done a lot of interviews, I would advise a woman to always wear a skirt suit or pant suit.  No crazy jewelry, makeup, or accessories - be conservative.

There are lots of opinions and articles about this - check out this link:

2)  When they ask for US experience, be honest that you don't have any, but your college is accredited in the US and your experience in the Phillippines has prepared you for what you need to do.  Don't be afraid to use some technical jargon about things you've done so that they know you do know what you're talking about.

3)  As far as questions, just have 2-3 questions to ask...maybe have a list of things you want to know and make sure they answer them all (benefits, working hours, dress code, responsibilities, etc.) and then always ask some questions like "What are the 2-3 skills or qualities it takes to succeed here?" or "What is the biggest challenge someone in this position will face?" and then talk about how you can tackle it.

4)  Make sure you ask for business cards/contact info and write thank you notes (I think email is OK because so many people now check their paper mail so infrequently anyway) the day of the interview or the next day.

5)  As far as getting info on why she or he didn't hire you, I have not had much luck getting people to tell me that, so don't be surprised if they never call you back or don't tell you much.  But if you can't even get them to say if you're hired or not, don't be afraid to keep calling every week or so and remind them of your interest.

Any other questions?
thanks you so much for your response, your insight was very helpful...
