HELP, HELP, what job do I takeI have been unemployed since Nov. 13 and need to find a job asap, I just interviewed with a small co. that are offering benefits and plenty of room for growth, both something I was looking for and they are willing to hire me this week but I have an interview with Paycheck through and know that they are a GREAT co. to work for with Lots of room for growth and great benefits, but the thing is that there interview process requires multiple interview which could take up to 3 weeks, along with math testing and drug testing, What do I do, I hate to start at this small co. and quit 2 weeks later after they put time and effort into training me, they already invited me to the x-mas party this sat. on a chartered boat and seem like great people. Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated. HELP. You said you need a job. How desperately do you need it? Is it an immediate-can't wait need? Or an I can wait for a few more months before I go absolutely insane need? You have a definite job opportunity NOW as opposed to a maybe three or four weeks down the road. Are you willing to take the chance that the maybe becomes a definite? Can you wait three, four, five months or longer for another opportunity to come your way? Rather than worry about leaving after only a month or so at the small company and causing angst among the employers and employees there, worry about how you are going to spin it to your new supervisor hat you need to take time off from a brand new job to interview with another company. That is an issue which can get your position pulled out from under you and you won't even need to make the decision. Personally, I would take the small company job if my need were immediate enough to make waiting a hardship. Keep the interview on Thursday with Paychex because, let's face it, you may go into the interview and become incredibly disillusioned with the atmosphere or the job description.
